Stolen Dreams - Africa

AFRI-CA... a the beautiful non-materialistic world, a place believed to be the origin place of humanity is going to be the next powerhouse who will drive the world when economies of India, China and other growing nations will reach saturation, but the smarter world (developed world) has already started grabbing the pie. Their dreams were always stolen or were they never allowed a dream?.... I ask  when I spot a man looking up in the sky @ night…maybe he’s counting the stars or maybe he’s looking at the empty space, but I can see the light in his eyes. A continent with 54 sovereign countries and population of 1 billion, (less than India’s :-) :P) was looted all together by a powerful few ,first they took them  African slave trade took around 10 million slaves to the NEW world from the gateway called Point of No return (Ouidah, Benin). Now they are ruled by them “Barak Obama” (Hope & Change). The Europeans invited a game called Scramble for Africa and made artistic slices of great continent but they rose up to shed their RED blood, to protect their GREENS as it was sheer BLACK(passion) power to defeat colonialism. You can see these three colors in almost any African country’s national flag. Libya was first country to gained independence…and powerhouses had already started aligning countries by their sides. Whenever a country gained independent it either had to align to US or the Soviet. This further worsened their conditions as the unity was never allowed to build up. As they grew hungry for food, they divided them by religion…and trust me religion is such a great influencing force can drive the masses mad for war, atrocities…whether it may be killing one’s own countrymen…..they continue to fight endlessly…. civil wars or external conflicts erupted in almost every country, Sudan for example, the country with rich oil wealth is still burning, the Congo war with 5.4 million deaths ended recently Conflicts in Algeria, Angola, Somalia.etc etc.. From conflict wars to genocide you can witness everything here making poverty, malnutrition and illiteracy so common…that it will make you cold even in the Saharan desert.

The continent is believed to hold 90% of the world’s cobalt , 90% of its platinum, 50% of its gold, 98% of its chromium, 64% of its manganese and one-third of its uranium The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has 70% of the world’s coltan, and most mobile phones in the world have coltan in them. The DRC also has more than 30% of the world’s diamond reserves. And they are still not RICH… because the African economy is not mainly driven by agriculture so they have all the minerals with malnutrition and you can’t dream until you have sufficient food to have a night’s sleep.A NGO worker part of International Refugee Camps in Africa told me, While the world is going north, the people in this continent are running from southwards

Probably because they don’t know what going south actually means or may because the winds are blowing in that direction as the Sahara desert is expanding southwards at an avg of 48km per year and the gone with the wind. But they should remember to go the Nile way to meet the rest of the world and bring new winds of change.

Countries have already started investing heavily on Africa. I can see those Chinese workers here at many civil constructions sites maybe because the world was made in china, but no one can provide a guarantee for this fact:P, There are large business houses being owned by the French and British, the descendants of the colonial rule are still ruling in some ways. They themselves hold the power now but are far corrupt to ask themselves if they actually belong to humanity or brotherhood. Governments should start thinking about their own people and protect the industries and local culture before the globalization hits them hard and the big fish eats all the smaller ones.  The develop world have always manipulated the governments support the dictators, provided billions of dollars in aid to keep corruption undiluted all for their own interests. But it’s your time now.

Some where I can see the light coming when I meet the local people they are educated and speaking very good English and yes they are very brilliant. People are very warm and affectionate here, talented footballers who can bend better then Beckham, hip-hop, rappers making new genre of music, meat lovers, animal lovers and yes they have amazing stamina….. as powerful as lightening thunder BOLT(9.58 sec).Majority of the population is young and tech-savvy as they have come out there ethnic cocoons to meet the new world. It’s now their duty to spread the light through the Great Rock Ruins of Zimbabwe to smallest nation of Seychelles and stand United. It’s Time to raise your fist with the “big FIVE”. And I have already witnessed see some ignited sparks here. The youth is moving and changing the situation maybe Sudan, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt or Libya. I have witnessed history, the pyramids are taller then Everest now. And I can bet they will be different story by the end of this decade. Because now they have started chasing those STOLEN DREAMS and the world knows they are the true Marathon Winners :) Time to write history again it’s your chapter!
